Artisan v4.0: +40k downloads. Wow!

What is new?

Connectivity

We worked together with the ROEST team to connect Artisan as well as our artisan.plus platform to the ROEST platform. Users of ROEST machines can log their roasts with Artisan and manage their inventory on artisan.plus. This works also for their new P3000 machine!

The communication with the ROEST platform is using the MQTT protocol. Thus we added a generic MQTT layer to Artisan the very same way we did for MODBUS, Siemens S7, and WebSockets before.

We also added a tight integration with the OB-1 PRO from our machine sponsor Orbiter. Check out this nice initial review of this brand-new 1.2kg machine.

Further, we added support for machines of Pratter, Neuhaus Neotec, North Roasters, the refurbished machines of Schuilenburg as well as the latest generation of Probats G/UG 2026 series which got updated this year with new software communicating via WebSockets as their P series machines.

Core

We hardened the core of Artisan by adding validation of profiles and settings on load. The community contributed Bulgarian localization (thanks, Alex!) and reported many small issues in previous versions, which we fixed and complemented with small UI improvements.

RoastGuard

It is generally accepted that when multiple roasts of the same green lot achieve the same roasting parameters, they can be considered effectively interchangeable.

Our newest artisan.plus feature, RoastGuard, takes this principle and turns it into a tool for managing quality control processes.
